Publishing your first event

The event builder has four steps: Basics, Tickets, Settings and Review. Save a draft at any point and come back to finish it later.

Basics

Choose whether to collect registrations and charge for tickets, then add the event name, event link, category, dates, venue and About this event. Add up to 11 dates, or choose Date not decided yet and add the schedule later. Events are in person, so every published event needs a venue. For the poster, use a JPG or PNG at least 1200×900. If you skip it, KHEvents generates one from your title and category.

Tickets

Add a ticket type for each price, up to 20. Leave Quantity blank for no limit. If you don’t collect registrations, the builder skips this step. Paid tickets also need an active USD bank account set up before you can publish.

Settings

Choose who can see the event:

Public — listed on KHEvents

Unlisted — link only

Private — invited guests only

This step also sets whether tickets can be transferred and, for paid events, refunded.

Review and publish

Review shows How it looks on KHEvents. Select Submit & publish and the event goes live straight away. The builder tells you if anything required is missing, such as the description, category, date or venue. After publishing, use Preview in the event manager to see the full public page.

Save time on the words

Writing your event listing with ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini has a ready-made prompt that fills every field on the Basics step.
