Writing your event listing with ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini
Paste your notes into any AI with the prompt below and get a listing that fits every event builder field and reads well in search results.
What search results show from your listing
Your event name becomes the page title, and the first 160 characters of About this event usually become the snippet under it on Google. If those opening words are “Hello everyone!!” or “Don’t miss out”, that is what people see. Open with what the event is, when, and where.
Name it the way people search
Say what the event is, not only what it is called: “Live Jazz with The Mekong Quartet” tells a stranger far more than “Vibes Vol. 3”. Keep it under 70 characters so results don’t cut it off. Leave out all-caps, emoji and prices, and leave out the date too. It is already on the page, and a dated name goes stale when you add another night.
Add the Khmer name
Name in Khmer is optional, but it is what Khmer-language visitors see. Ask for a natural Khmer title rather than a word-by-word translation, and have a Khmer speaker check it before you publish. AI Khmer is often stiff or simply wrong.
A short description and a long one
About this event is one plain-text field, but write it in two parts.
Short description: one sentence under 160 characters saying what the event is, when and where. It opens the field, becomes the Google snippet, and doubles as a caption for Facebook or Telegram.
Long description: two or three short paragraphs after a blank line. Who is performing or speaking first, what it is like to be there second, and practical details such as age limit, dress code, language and what to bring last.
The field is plain text, so leave out Markdown, bullet symbols and hashtags.
The prompt — copy everything below
=== ROLE ===
You are helping me write an event listing for KHEvents, an events and ticketing website in Cambodia.
=== RULES ===
- Use only the facts in MY NOTES. Never invent performers, prices, times, sponsors or venues.
- If a fact is missing, write MISSING under that heading.
- Reply in plain text. No Markdown, bold, bullet symbols, hashtags or emoji.
- Write in English, except NAME IN KHMER.
=== SETTINGS ===
Tone: friendly and clear
Short description: 1 sentence, under 160 characters
Long description: 2 to 3 paragraphs, under 1,500 characters
=== OUTPUT ===
Reply with these headings in this order. Put each heading on its own line, with the answer on the lines below it.
EVENT NAME
Under 70 characters. Say what the event is. No all-caps, emoji, prices or dates.
NAME IN KHMER
A natural Khmer title for the same event, not a word-by-word translation.
EVENT LINK
Lowercase letters, numbers and dashes only, 3 to 150 characters.
CATEGORY
Exactly one of: Music, Nightlife, Performing Arts, Visual Arts & Exhibitions, Food & Drink, Business & Networking, Tech & Startups, Workshops & Classes, Sports & Fitness, Community & Charity, Festivals & Fairs, Family & Kids, Education & Talks.
DATES

SHORT DESCRIPTION
What the event is, when and where, in one sentence that makes sense on its own. Search engines show it under the event name.
LONG DESCRIPTION
Carry on from the short description without repeating it. Who is performing or speaking first, what it is like to be there second, practical details such as age limit, dress code, language and what to bring last. Leave a blank line between paragraphs.

MISSING
Every heading you marked MISSING, or none.

Make the prompt your own
The prompt is split into blocks, so you can change one without touching the rest.
SETTINGS: change the tone or lengths, for example “Tone: formal, for a business audience”.
RULES: add anything the AI should always do, such as “Mention that the venue is wheelchair accessible”.
OUTPUT: delete a heading you don’t need, such as TICKETS for a free event without registration.
MY NOTES: replace everything under it for each new event.

Filling in the builder
Each heading in the reply matches a field in the event builder. For About this event, paste the short description, add a blank line, then paste the long description below it. Set each date, doors time and end time with the pickers, and add each ticket type on the Tickets step. Before publishing, delete anything you did not tell the AI. A made-up performer or price is the fastest way to lose an attendee’s trust.
